The Gain Standard Antenna consists of a square-shaped reflector with dimensions λ x λ. Two half-wave dipoles are mounted λ/4 in front of the reflector plate. The gain is 9.8 dBi at the antennas' design frequency. The design frequency may be specified from 430 MHz to 2.8 GHz. The half power beamwidth is approx. 60°. The standard gain antenna is used for applications which require a high gain with good directivity and good front to back ratio. According to EIA/TIA-329-B these antennas are called 'transfer standard antennas or 'EIA reference antennas'.
