EN/IEC 61000-4-6 Testing

EN/IEC 61000-4-6 is the normative reference standard to test electronic products immunity to RF conducted injected interference. RF conducted interference is phenomena as simple as placing a wireless device on or near power cables or data lines that can couple wireless through the shielding of those lines and affect associated equipment. More complex situations include cable bundles in a car chassis that may cause the RF conducted affect and impact other lines, and travel to the electronics. RF conducted immunity test equipment will generate more than anticipated RF fields we would expect in the real world. Engineers exercise their equipment across the frequency band, typically 150 kHz to 80 or 230 MHz, to gauge how their product responds to the interference.
