Test Equipment Description

The E1 Suitcase is a portable test system used to satisfy the MIL STD 188-125 requirement for E1 short-pulse direct current injection up to 1 kA. The E1 suitcase may be used with an included inductive coupler or a direct injection output adapter. The E1 suitcase is operated using a handheld fiber-optic remote control and includes a calibration fixture which uses a current transformer with NIST traceable components.

The Military Standard (MIL-STD) 188-125 establishes minimum requirements and design objectives for high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) hardening of fixed1 ground-based facilities that perform critical, time-urgent command, control, communications, computer, and intelligence (C4I) missions.

Refer to the latest published standard for any information regarding the MIL-STD-188-125. Safe operating principles for high voltage and high current should be followed at all times when using the E1 suitcase. Operators must abide by the authority having jurisdiction at the end-user facility.
